Don’t throw it! Let’s darn it!
On March 9th, we had our regular sewing workshop in Garnethill Multicultural Centre.
There were several people with diverse mending skills attending this workshop.
Everyone was welcome to bring damaged old clothing to this workshop.
Based on different damages,
participants found various ways to repair the clothing, giving them a second life.
The repairing process went smoothly.
Everyone could learn new skills from each other.
An old jacket received new buttons.
A bag received a new zipper.
The colourful yarn rings, which hided the poor holes, made this shirt stylish!
You must wonder where Lindsey’s shoes are
and why the sewing workshop runs without shoes.
Here they are!
The amazing embroidery covered the stains on the fabrics.
Speed-weaving mending covered unwanted holes on the tights.
Everyone enjoyed this sunny and relaxing afternoon
with gaining exciting mending skills,
communicating with other experienced artists
and appreciating the brilliant results!
Thanks to everyone who contributed to reducing fabric waste!
