FootSteps Walking Tour
September 15, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pmFree
We are delighted to partner with OUT on Sundays to host a very special walk. Our walk leader, Bill, will give us a flavour of Chinese heritage, history and some background insight of when families from the East began to travel to Glasgow eager to call it home.
We’ll meet outside Govan underground at 1pm. Our first stop will be the site of the very first Chinese restaurant, we’ll pass through the site of the Chinese Garden during the Glasgow Garden Festival 1988, taking in the river to learn about the tea trade and stopping at the site of the first ever Lipton’s tea shop. We’ll travel into the west end to discuss the Chinese community here, we’ll pass by Kelvingrove Museum discussing Chinese art before heading into the Garnethill area of city centre.
Cantonese and Mandarin interpretation available.
Please contact email@example.com if you have any questions or are interested in attending our other walking tours being announced very soon.
