Else, a board member of Ricefield since November 2015, has been actively involved in both operational and management of the organisation. She was later appointed as Chairperson in February 2017. Else holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and she started her career as a Business Process Analyst of an international company, Shell Ltd for 3 years. Else is always keen to gain knowledge and experience in different areas, where she has previously worked as a freelance Software Consultant, and also as a primary school’s Class Teacher. Thanks to her multilingual skills in several languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese and English, Else was also a TV Subtitle’s Translator and once became a Localisation Adviser for a TV Software company supporting the launch their software in Chinese speaking countries. In 2012, she moved her career focus into the charity sector and worked for CEMVO Scotland for 3 years. She is currently working at Interfaith Scotland as Finance and Office Manager. Else’s interest in arts and crafts, and her passion to share the beauty of Chinese culture to others was reflected in her previous volunteering activities. She was previously a committee member and a volunteer workshop leader of an art club. She played Chinese musical Instrument ‘Pipa’ for several years, and later became the co-founder of the Chinese Orchestra Club in the university where she studied.
